These are just a few of the many grants that FOLMADS has funded with generous donations from parents and community members!

Musical instruments

  • Two sets of Adams Professional fiberglass timpani - one for each Clarke and Diamond Middle School, requested by Jeff Leonard and Toby Forman.
  • A collection of unpitched percussion instruments for Fiske Elementary School, requested by Nick Hart.

  • A wireless communication system for the backstage production team for the LHS Drama department, requested by Andrea Stumpf.
  • Student workshop through Boston Playwrights for LHS Drama students, requested by Jillian Singer-Wong

Visual Arts

  • 3 Canon T5i digital cameras for the LHS art department, requested by Mary Pappas.
  •  Conrad E15 Etching Press for Diamond Middle School, requested by Diana Billip and Samuel Aman.
Elementary Schools
  • Bus transportation to Lexington Symphony "Orchestrating Kids Through Classics" performance for all the third grade students.
  • Performances by the New England Brass Quartet for fourth graders at each elementary school.

Lexington High School Music

  • A new composition of Balkan music for Symphony Orchestra from local composer Vessela Stoyanova, requested by Rachel Jayson.  The composer will also provide many clinics and coaching sessions to the students of Symphony Orchestra. 
  • Piano and vocal scores of James Whitbourn's "Annelies" for the LHS honors choruses requested by Jason Iannuzzi.
  • Partial funding for Jazz Guest Artist-in-Residence Russ Gershon, requested by Jeff Leonard and Pat Donaher
  • Mini-boom Portable speaker for jazz classes, requested by Pat Donaher

FOLMADS awarded Rachel Jayson (left) the funds to commission a set of Balkan music pieces from Boston composer Vessela Stoyanova (right) in 2015, specifically for the LHS Symphony Orchestra. The 3rd piece of the set had its World Premier on Feb 3, 2016.
